2nd Line Helpdesk Engineer - Near Bedford - Up to £30k (depending on experience)

My client, a Managed Services Provider based near Bedford, has an exciting opening for a 2nd Line Helpdesk Engineer to join their team. They are a small and friendly organisation operating under a cloud-first basis, and strive to create a relaxed and positive atmosphere within the working environment.

Joining the Service Team, this role will be responsible for resolving 2nd line technical issues and providing support to the client’s customer base of SMEs, assisting with service and project delivery, and working alongside the back-office team to ensure a first-class user experience. You will bring your expertise of modern desktop and cloud solutions to the team.

The following are essential:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar desktop support role, preferably within a Managed Services Provider
  • Experience of ticketing systems and working within contracted SLAs
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows 10 desktop support and cloud storage solutions (OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Advanced networking knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Anti-virus and Backup
  • Knowledge of Azure MFA, SSO and SAML
  • Data Security/Protection and Cyber Security knowledge
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Clean driving license & own car (travel to client sites will be required)

The following are desirable:

  • Knowledge of VMWare/Hyper-V
  • Experience with ConnectWise/Continuum/IT Glue/BrightGauge
  • Knowledge/experience of configuring and troubleshooting Fortinet firewalls and Datto backup and disaster recovery
  • CompTIA, ITIL, Microsoft, Fortinet, and Cisco qualifications
