Desktop Support Engineer – Permanent – Up to £30,000 – South Kensington or Sutton.

Technical skills required: ITIL, Mac OS X, Windows, JAMF Pro, Centrify, PRINCE2.

My client, a leading research charity, is looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to provide 1st and 2nd line desktop and application support to all institute staff.

Job Specifications:

To provide first and second line desktop and application support to all Institute staff within SLA deadlines. The Desktop Support Engineer will combine sound technical skills with empathy for the customers’ requirements and have the ability to make complex terms comprehensible. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for this varied role as the successful candidate will be liaising with customers as well as working with colleagues to resolve issues.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • English Language and Maths Qualifications.
  • Solid ITIL experience and understanding.
  • Experience of desktop support, hardware support and hardware installations.
  • Experience in operating systems such as: Mac OS X and Windows.
  • Experience of managing Mac OS X devices within a JAMF Pro and Centrify environments.
  • Experience of managing windows devices within a LANDesk environment.
  • Experience of providing customer service.

Remote working:

This job role will require you to be based at the South Kensington office at least 2/3 times per week with the rest being remote working.
