Development Lead - Transition Programme - Up to 130k + Bonus + Benefits (18 Months Fixed Contract)

The Client:

My client, a well-known international Trading organisation, is seeking an experienced software development professional with strong leadership experience to join their team, leading a transition programme. This role will be based from their central London office - you will be required to be in the office, but remote working is included.

The Role:

My client, have decided to bring the external development teams fully in-house, with the goal of creating a community of internal development teams, with team culture, team spirit and success as core values, uniting the separate teams under one roof. 

For this exciting 18-month project - a driven, passionate and experienced individual is required to lay the foundations of such a community, with vast management / mentorship experience and who has led a similar transition programme. You'll be required to introduce internal procedures, instil the guidelines for high functioning community, and to set the standard for a united team attitude.

A strong background and knowledge in the development field is essential - the ability to check code, and to provide mentorship and best practices for the developers will be regularly required for the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Guiding team development efforts towards successful project delivery.
  • Mentoring junior development resources and providing accurate advice, guidance, support and training to team members and individuals.
  • Developing processes, methodologies, and capabilities in-house
  • Work closely with management level to enable the smooth transition of all in-house developed software into IT operational environment
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of how the overall business solutions are positioned, deployed, and supported
  • Steering and active participation in committee meetings, senior executive meetings
  • Promote innovation within the teams and develop the delivery teams through professional development.
  • Accountable for 3rd level support (24x5,5) for all in-house applications
  • Checking the output of the team, reading and analysing the code will be required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Expert ability to read and understand various coding languages
  • Strong interpersonal and effective relationship management skills
  • Proven Team leadership experience and capabilities
  • Extensive experience in the Exchange or real time trading sector
  • Proven knowledge of Software Engineering methodologies
  • Track record of team & vendor management
