Network Engineer, Financial Services, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, WAN Optimisation, EIGRP/OSPF/ BGP 

My client, a global Trading firm based in the City of London is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The candidate primary focus will be network operations, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organisation's global network. You will be working on project-based work and operational support.

The network engineer will support the implementation, support and maintenance of the organisation's network security infrastructure, including devices providing network access, firewall, content filtering and proxy services.

The successful candidate will participate in all new implementations, ensuring successful project delivery and transitioning them into the BAU operating model.

Please note that this is an operational role and weekend work may be required. Candidates will be paid time and a half and double time after 5 pm on Saturday and double time on Sunday.  


  • Evidence of providing 2nd and 3rd level support for large network environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN and WAN Networks within a Banking or FS environment
  • Routing, Switching, NAT
  • Cisco IOS, Juniper JUNOS
  • Spanning Tree Protocol
  • Understanding of MPLS technology
  • IP network packet troubleshooting and analysis
  • Internet architecture design and implementation
  • Firewalls (ASA, Checkpoint, Juniper, Palo Alto)
  • Knowledge of different exchange connectivity
  • Cloud computing network (Azure and AWS)
  • Recent Financial Service experience will be required
