My client, a global Financial Service organisation based in the City of London is looking for a Senior Network Engineer. The candidate primary focus will be network operations, and the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the organisation's global network. You will be working on 50% project based work and 50% operational support. The network engineer will support the implementation, support and maintenance of the organisation's network security infrastructure, including devices providing network access, firewall, content filtering, intrusion detection and proxy services.

The successful candidate will participate to all new implementations, ensuring successful project delivery and transitioning them into the BAU operating model.

The Network Engineer will be providing support and maintenance to the overall Global network infrastructure of the company and the UK Data Centres providing technical support to the organisation's local area network and wide area network, in London, Europe and North America. 

Preference will be given to candidates who are coming from the financial services industry.


  • Evidence of providing 2nd and 3rd level support for large network environments.
  • Experience of managing day to day operations of a Data Centre.
  • Expert knowledge on Quality of Service – CBWFQ, policing and shaping.
  • Excellent understanding of VPN technologies – GRE, DMVPN, MPLS VPN.
  • Good knowledge of multicast skills – MSDP, IGMP, PIM-SM.
  • Good understanding of F5 load balancing products.
  • Strong experience with Checkpoint firewalls.
  • Palo Alto firewalls or other application layer firewalls.
  • Market Data connectivity.
  • Cisco NXOS.
  • Cisco Nexus, 6500, 4500 series switches.
  • Switching: VLAN, STP.
  • DNS/DHCP Infoblox.
  • Cisco CCNP qualified.
  • Able to work collaboratively with multiple support teams on complex issues.
  • Recent Financial Service experience will be required 

This position will require the successful job holder to work on a shift rota, providing cover between 08:00 and 18:00, Monday to Friday.
