My client, a global risk management and professional services firm based in the city, has an exciting opening for a Senior Support Engineer to join their team. They are a friendly team with a great culture, with a future-centred and progressive company ethos.

As Senior Support Engineer, you will be responsible for resolving 2nd/3rd line technical issues, providing support for the client’s user base. You will need to take a proactive approach and happy to work across all issues (across 1st- 3rd line) to align with business needs. You will collaborate with the team to provide effective and innovative technical solutions, and will have a focus on knowledge and skills sharing, acting as a ‘bridge’ between the service desk and senior management.

The following are essential:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar 2nd/3rd line senior support role, from within varied enterprise environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of the M365 Suite (Sharepoint, Exchange, OneDrive, Office)
  • Strong Powershell scripting skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Azure (including experience managing hybrid on-prem/cloud environments)
  • Windows Server and Server-based technologies (AD, IIS, GPO, Sites and Services etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of VMWare/VDI and other virtualisation platforms
  • Good networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs)
  • Good understanding of IT Security implications and frameworks (ISO27001)
  • DevOps/automation mindset
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

The following are desirable:

  • Knowledge of PowerApps
  • IT/Security qualifications (CCNA, CEH, CISSP etc.)
