Video and Voice Engineer – London – Market Salary – Permanent/Contract

Our client is one of the largest trading organisations in the world and they are seeking a Video and Voice engineer to join their thriving team. It’s a great opportunity for someone to drive an implement the latest technologies and be the designated SME on site.

As a Video and Voice Engineer you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining predominantly all video and voice IT Infrastructure across the business

This opportunity will expose the engineer to wide range of IT Projects and will allow them the ability to be the main port of call for all video and VOIP related infrastructure issues, the main responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Managing the design and the implementation of important network infrastructures to support the companies services; this will involve being able to work on tasks which are both long term and also short term respectively
  • Responsible for creating, supporting, maintaining and documentation of Video and Voice IT Infrastructure:
  • Evaluate alternative technologies and architectures in relation to the companies infrastructure needs and Identify opportunities and engineer solutions to enhance existing networks 
  • Perform administrative support duties as required to meet specific operational objectives and also support with weekend on call support as and when required by the company
  • Reporting and escalating faults and issues to network manager and submitting reports on a weekly basis (excellent communication skills will be imperative)

To be considered for the role you will have ideally 5+ years’ experience in a VOIP/Video engineer role with the following skillset:

  • Strong knowledge of video and voice technology. 
  • Experience and/or strong working knowledge of multiple VC platforms (e.g., Polycom, Tandberg, Cisco, etc.)
  • Expert Knowledge in Avaya PABX
  • Expert knowledge of Cisco TMS/VCS/MCU/Telepresence/SIP
  • Experience with AMX room controllers, interactive whiteboard and projectors
  • Experience of working with Unified Communications architecture and integration.
  • Working knowledge of integrated and non-integrated VC systems.
  • Advanced networking understanding and skills; including firewall compliance with video standards.
